Andi's Oats

I don’t really like the mainstream porridge. To me, the texture is just not what I want. So I came up with a method that is much more desirable to anyone who dislikes the regular porridge. The texture reminds me of a cake but it is waaaay healthier.

ingredients

  • 160g water
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp agave/maple syrup
  • fresh fruits and nuts of choice
  • yogurt

instructions

  1. Mix the oats, flaxseeds, cinnamon, and water and let sit for at least an hour, preferably overnight.
  2. Put the mixture in the microwave at maximum for about 2 minutes. You will see that the oat mixture is going to turn a bit doughy, and that is exactly what we want.
  3. Now it is your turn to be creative. I always add a tablespoon of sweetness in the form of maple or agave syrup. Then I top everything with fresh fruits, nuts of choice, and 2-3 tablespoons of soy yogurt.
